Description
Manzoni Bianco is a combination of Riesling Renano and Pinot Bianco grapes created by the eminent agronomist Luigi Manzoni in the early 20th century. It produces a unique wine for its aromaticity, structure, and elegance. The low yield and small bunches give the wine concentration and body. For this reason, the Guicciardini family has made it the basis of their sparkling wine. It is made using the Champenois Method (Classic Method) after a 24-month aging on the lees.
Grape Variety: Manzoni Bianco
Harvest: Mid-August
Vinification: Manual harvest in 20 kg crates, whole grape pressing
Fermentation: In steel tanks and part in barrels with sought-after malolactic fermentation.
Aging: On the fine lees for 8/10 months before disgorgement, while aging on the lees reaches 24 months.
Alcohol content: 12% – 12.5%
Tasting Notes: Rich complexity of aromas, delicate floral notes, a marked minerality, great structure, and a very fine and persistent perlage. The bouquet is completed by the aromas of licorice and wisteria. In the mouth, it slowly releases a quantity of very fine bubbles, with citrus and floral notes prevailing. Ideal as an aperitif but also with any meal.
