Description
The Maremma region of Italy is revealing its potential to produce high-quality wines, and the “I Massi” from Mandorlaia is a testament to this. Sangiovese, the backbone of Morellino, demonstrates power and elegance. Small amounts of Alicante, Merlot, and Cabernet contribute to its richness.
Varieties: Sangiovese 85%, Alicante 15%
Vinification: Fermentation in temperature-controlled vats at 28-29°C (82-84°F) and maceration for 15-18 days.
Maturation and Aging: Aging in vats for 8-10 months, and partially in French oak barrels for 4-6 months, then in bottle.
Alcohol content: 13.5-14.5%
Tasting notes: Intense ruby red color. Spicy aromas and mineral notes evolve into fruity with a round and full body, light acidic notes harmonized with good alcohol content. Pleasantly balsamic finish.
